Step 1

Before disassembling the complete display assembly of your iPad Air 2 3G/4G, you have to turn it off for safety reasons.

Press for a few seconds the power button and slide to power off.

Step 2

Insert the SIM card tray eject tool in the hole circled in red on picture 1.

Then push to eject the SIM card tray.

Step 3

Then remove the SIM card tray.

The SIM card tray of the iPad Air 2 3G/4G is now disassembled.

Step 4

With a hair dryer, heat up the top part and the bottom part of the iPad' screen for 2 to 3 minutes.

Do not heat the screen, only the frame.

Step 5

Still using the hair dryer, heat the left part of the iPad for 2 to 3 minutes.

Then insert an scraper in the crack on the right of the iPad to separate the screen from the frame.

Step 6

Use the scraper to gently separate the top and left part of the iPad.

If needed, you can use the hair dryer again for 1 to 2 minutes. This will soften the glue on the iPad.

Step 7

Still with the scraper, unglue the bottom part of the iPad Air 2 screen.

Step 8

Then lift the screen by grabbing it at the bottom.

Do not remove the screen just yet, it is still attached to the logic board.

Step 9

With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the three screws circled in red.

Those screws secure the connector bracket of the iPad screen.

Then use a pair of tweezers and remove it entirely.

Step 10

The connector bracket of the iPad screen is now disassembled.

Use the nylon spudger to disconnect the screen connection cable.

Step 11

Still using the nylon spudger, disconnect the two other screen connection cables.

Step 12

Then lift the screen by pulling it out as shown on picture 1 of this step.

Step 13

The screen of the iPad Air 2 3G/4G is now disassembled.

You can replace it by a new one if needed.
